Compassionate Care Hospice Volunteers enhance an individual’s quality of life in just 1-2 hours per week, engaging in activities such as playing music, holding hands, reading, writing letters, or simply sitting quietly. During this four-week course you will be introduced to one of our social workers, nurses, chaplain, and our bereavement coordinator. We will discuss extensively end-of-life medical issues, grief and loss, family dynamics, communication, and spiritual care. Please join us for this introspective exploration and adopt our unique and compassionate approach to care of the mind, body, and spirit at the end of life. Volunteers are supervised by the Volunteer Coordinator and supported by other members of the patient care team. Please bring a notebook and pen if you choose.
